Each of us wants to spend a few days to a quiet and clean place where you can devote yourself to the natural environment around you, enjoy the scent of flowers, breathe clean air and forget the stress. The village for the film completely built is now a real tourist attraction. The character of Popeye was invented in 1929, but its popularity has not diminished. Almost every one of us, when younger was eating spinach, just about the same rate as the famous character

In Malta there are certainly a place you do not expect that one day you will see in the real version - Popeye Village. The village, which is also known as Sweethaven Village, is a group of rustic wooden houses and removed at Anchor Bay in the northwestern corner of the Mediterranean island of Malta. The aim of the days in 1980, when was that a movie set for the production of "Popeye", until today has grown into one of the major tourist attractions in Malta. Thematic village on the popular cartoon heroes was of productions "Paramaunt images" and "Volt Dizni" in the 1980s.

offered by the variety and endless activities of this small town, it's impossible not to be amazed at first glance with its idyllic. The village is rich in 19 rustic wooden cottages. In the village you can enjoy crazy rollercoaster ride, visit playgrounds, puppet theaters and cinemas. The village also has mini golf and free wine for adults. The place was built in 1979 for seven months to 165 workers. There are 19 genuine wooden cabins made of wood from Canada and the Netherlands made because Malta has no forest. Another interesting fact is that eight tonnes of nails and 7570 liters of paint were used for construction, to look like a cartoon from the 20s of the last century.
