Mao Zedong head statue, China

Mao Zedong head statue is in Orange Isle, Changsha, capital of Hunan Province, China . The statue was unveiled on December 2009, (Mao's 116th birthday). The statue is 32 meters high. It took 2 years to build it. The cost was about 35 million US dollars (300 million RMB) were mined 8,000 giant granite bricks from Fujian and broght to Changsha. Location of the statue was a young man by a poem Mao Zedong wrote in selected 1925th The poem "Changsha" is one of his. known poems
