Mono Lake, California, United States

Mono Lake is an alkaline lake (it has high concentrations of carbonate), in the eastern part of California, in the United States.

The term "mono," came from the word "Monachi", a Yokut term (Yokuts were an ethnic group of Indians native to central California) for the strains on both the east and west side Sierra Nevada lives.
