"Big Hole" is an old diamond mine, which closed in 1914 - it is now a massive crater filled with water - about 214 feet deep and a circumference a little more than 1.5 kilometers. The city of Kimberley (South Africa) is right at the top of the Big Hole
In March 1888 the owners of several mines decided to combine & amp; amp. combine the mines of this area to a large mine and a great company that is still known as De Beers. De Beers is still on the side and tried the Big Hole register as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, De Beers has done some to work on the site and now there is an entrance fee, a small museum and an observation deck overlooking the large Hole- .
