turnip rock (also known as Point aux Barque ) is located directly on the shores of Lake Huron, approximately 3 kilometers northeast of Port away Austin (Michigan, USA), it is a nice rock formation. also (depending on the season), a tiny tidal island is Turnip Rock gets its name from its beet-like shape, the similarity with turnip is emphasized in particular by the trees on the top of the rock surface. This rock formation is a result of many years of wave erosion. The land around Turnip Rock is privately owned, so the only way to get the rock is, and so by boat / kayak
There are kayaks for rent, updated maps and instructions portaustinkayak.com - The journey should take around three hours and is usually available from March to mid-November
