Sri Lanka is an island nation in the Indian Ocean. It lies on the southern coast of the Indian subcontinent in Asia. It was as Ceylon until 1972 known With a large climate and beautiful nature, Sri Lanka is a great place for travelers. Also you will find astonishing sandy beaches, green spaces and waterfalls in Sri Lanka.

The history of this island comes from 125,000 years ago to 500,00o. Has in each period and time many events happen and develops the culture.

The country is small, but has the highest biodiversity density in Asia. 27% of the 3210 flowering plants and 22% of mammals that live in Sri Lanka are endemic. Due to the variety of native species, Sri Lanka has declared 24 game reserves.

There are more than 50 waterfalls in Sri Lanka, but here is a list of 6, the known and most are beautiful.

Ravana Falls

Ravana Falls is one of the most famous waterfalls 6 in Sri Lanka. It is currently being selected as one of the largest waterfalls in the country. It's height is 25 m (82 ft). It is by the legendary King Ravana, the famous Indian epic Ramayana.

Diyaluma cases

Diyaluma is another of the waterfalls in Sri Lanka. It height is 220 m, which is the second highest waterfall in this country. It is 6 km from Koslanda in Badulla District. The name in Sinhala language means "fast flow of water".

Dunhinda cases

This waterfall is located 5 km from the city Badulla. This is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Sri Lanka. Its height is 64 m (210 ft) and takes its name from the smoky dewdrops Spray (Dun in Sinhala means fog or smoke).

Devon Falls

Devon, the name of a pioneer English coffee planter is for naming this waterfall is credited. This is because his fields was near the waterfall. Devon Falls is 97 meters high and are located on 1140 m above sea level.

St. Clair cases

One of the biggest waterfalls in Sri Lanka, St. Clair's cases are referred to as "Little Niagara of Sri Lanka". 3 km west of Talawakele City of Waterfalls is high 80 m.

Bambarakanda Falls is the highest of the Waterfalls in Sri Lanka. With a height of 263 m (863 ft), it as the 299th highest waterfall in the world is.
