Tangke Lagoon is a well-hidden spectacular saltwater lagoon in the southernmost tip of the island Gigantes Sur (Iloilo province in the Philippines). The lagoon waters are amazingly clear and turquoise and the hotel looks like a large swimming pond that sparkles in the vivid sunlight. The word "Tangke" can be translated from Filipino as "tank". The lagoon is surrounded by high rugged limestone cliffs and green vegetation. There is an old local legend that the water in the lagoon miraculously increase each year as the Feast of St. John the Baptist begins. Guided boat tours usually move from the south of the island, but there are also some that sail it to the right of the island North Gigantes

Tip :

  • The climb over limestone cliffs to the lagoon is not too hard to make sure that you have a good sandals.
  • If for any reason you do not take the guided tour to the lagoon (let's say you own a yacht and we want to be your friends :) ), enter these GPS coordinates 11.573238, 123.329520.
  • It is best to visit at high tide, low tide the lagoon looks much smaller and less impressive for a photo shoot
