Petra is an ancient city that are actually counted on the list of this wonder of the world, probably the biggest tourist attraction of Jordan. Petra is located on the side of Mount Horin, a large canyon injury from the Dead Sea and all the way south to the Gulf of the Red Sea.
Al Khazneh ("The Treasury") is probably the best known and most elaborate buildings in Petra, it was built somewhere between the 1st century BC to the 2nd century AD, it was bent when the city under a heavy Greek and Egyptian influences, and most of the curved details were derived from these cultures. Petra was abandoned and forgotten beneath the desert, when in 1812 the Western world was introduced to Petra by a Swiss explorer named Johann Ludwig Burckhardt.
