Many people thought that this place is only set design of the film Indiana Jones. But this awesome place really exist. Petra is an ancient city, built in the red rocks of the desert in Jordan.

The most famous historical and archaeological city, and also the most visited tourist attraction in Jordan is the city of Petra. The town lies on the slope of Mount Hor, was founded in 312 BCE and is recognized for its architecture - processed stone blocks. The city of Petra is declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985, and the records of the city of UNESCO as "one of the most valuable cultural heritage of the cultural heritage of the people".

Petra is an abandoned ancient city in present-day Jordan. The hotel is situated on a mountain valley in the East observe Arab, in the overlapping routes to Gaza in the west, Bosra and Damascus in the north of Eilat Red Sea and the Persian Gulf on the other side of the desert. on 6 December 1985 Petra is added to the list of World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Petra is one of the new seven wonders of the world.

The Monastery, Petra's largest monument, dates from the year 1 - Century BC and was dedicated in honor of the god Obodas. (this information is written on the ruins of the monastery).

Petra is an ancient city that are actually counted on the list of this wonder of the world, probably the biggest tourist attraction of Jordan. Petra is located on the side of Mount Horin, a large canyon injury from the Dead Sea and all the way south to the Gulf of the Red Sea.
Al Khazneh ("The Treasury") is probably the best known and most elaborate buildings in Petra, it was built somewhere between the 1st century BC to the 2nd century AD, it was bent when the city under a heavy Greek and Egyptian influences, and most of the curved details were derived from these cultures. Petra was abandoned and forgotten beneath the desert, when in 1812 the Western world was introduced to Petra by a Swiss explorer named Johann Ludwig Burckhardt. The name - "Petra" is derived from the Greek word "stone" in Arabic there is no equivalent letter or note on the letter P, the name Jordanians there were -. Batra or Al-Batra visit
