Shinto or Kami-no-michi, is the mother of religion Japan and Japanese. Shinto shrines are structures whose main purpose is to accommodate one or more Shinto kami (gods, spirits). This Shinto shrines are marked by the presence of dogs (which are the religious buildings in a Shinto shrine, intended only for the use of anchored kami. Hondens are the heart of the shrine complex.)
