There is an upper Makua Cave and a lower Makua Cave. - The lower cave is much deeper, but do not have the breathtaking view of the upper. There is no marked trail (Stand 2015) just head straight up to the top of the gorge. the surface is mostly loose rock and dirt. Be careful of falling rocks, which you could fall out of people. The walk is about 30 minutes - depending on the season (when it is wet, it could be slippery and hot .. well you better do everything slowly -. Do not forget sunglasses, hat, sunscreen and a sufficient amount of water)
Tip:
- Park your cart in the dirt Kaneana parking (there is a rock with the word Kaneana it embedded). Usually there is enough space available
